MSC Virtuoso departed from and returned to MartiniqueOnly once did I see another cruise ship beside us.Although this was my first cruise I knew that this was a beautiful shipHere’s an early morning pic of the pool area before it got crowdedMy cabin did not have a window or balcony and I chose to be in the middle of the ship as I learned that this was the least likely area for me to get seasickness. The cabin and bathroom were very nice, very modern and the bed was comfortable although it was two twin beds pushed together. This is their main Galleria deck 6 where all the shops were mostly. The ceiling ran the length of the midship and was video screens. They changed the scenery every once in awhile and it was really quite striking. They had a beautiful 24-hour zodiac Clock at one end of the GalleriaI caught a beautiful sunset one nightThis Swarovski crystal staircase, there were 4 of them actually, 2 on each side, was very popular for selfies and professional photos. An evening shot of the main poolAnd one of the beautiful fish fountains.
Guadeloupe
Looking out at the town from the cruise shipI loved seeing this woman doing her gardening on her rooftop apartmentWe went to a beautiful beach on this first day excursion and I had a great time. I met a lovely family from Italy
St. Lucia
These mountains are actually volcanic cones. Our tour guide was hilarious. Hot sulphur springsView from the bus on these very narrow roads with sheer cliffs. 🫣There was a little church meeting place on the way to the volcano that had a really nice GardenWe were being observed by this little fellow. I think he was waiting for the preacher. This was a neat little church we passed in Castries. The mud baths at the volcano was interesting but I didn’t partake. You can see the volcanic mud bubbling up behind me here.A beautiful garden sanctuary on the way to the volcano.
Barbados
I spent a week in Barbados before so I chose to stay on the ship and enjoy the spa this day.
St. Vincent & Grenadines
This is the beautiful island of St Vincent just one of the several islands that makes up the Grenadines. The people here were absolutely wonderful, cheerful and very welcoming to tourists but the poverty I saw here was heartbreaking. Here is where they filmed some parts of Pirates of the Caribbean. Our Vincenzan tour guide named Sharon was just lovely and very sweet. She sang their national anthem for us. Just like Canada it was all about peace, fellowship and being a strong Nation together.Unfortunately the Black Sands Beach in St Vincent was not very nice.
Grenada
Fort Frederick in GrenadaSaw a waterfall in their National Park and walked a trail for a little bit but it was slippery as it’s in a rainforest.
People on the Cruise
From left: Adeet & Galbor from Hungary, Shylanda & Shykara Saunders (with Galbor standing between them). Rosalinde Saunders, me & Janelle from Dominica.Rosalinde & me.Dinners were usually pretty goodStephany in guest services was so helpful. She straightened out a few issues for me very quickly.Rob the robot mixed me a cocktail called the Black Hole. Rob was heavy on the liquor for this drink so I don’t remember what all else was in it. LOLShame I didn’t get pics of the bartenders Chams & Satrya who were so nice at the champagne bar. They make art out of the irises of your eyes. That was different.Stephany in Guest Services made sure I got my champagne for Christmas morning and added these delicious chocolate dipped strawberries. This was chocolate art, seriously and if I can get the video uploaded they were also in motion. The dining room was very nice. The stores were not allowed to open when the ship was docked at Port. The musical entertainment was really good but I never did get to see any shows.
I Had A Great Time!
The trio walking up the path in this video were a very nice family from Ottawa that I met.I got kissed by both dogs and it made me miss Zoey. 😆
